In the background is the Seymer Ball Field and Recreation Field. It was used extensively by employees of the nearby Broadwater, State Nursery, Kessler Brewery and Fort Harrison.

The stone building in the top photo was the stables. It's also pictured below in a 1980s photograph taken from the opposite bank of Ten Mile Creek. A fire gutted the original structure, and the roof and windows were rebuilt as seen below around 1945.

View from the northwest, showing Thermal Lake, also known as Lake Wilder. The lake was formed by diverting water from Ten Mile Creek. It provided boating in the summer and ice-skating in the winter. In the background is Mount Helena (elevation 5429 ft.).
